Default What are good mods for a stock LS1?

I WANT TO MODIFY THE CAR, BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO BE CRAZY FAST.

Money is not a problem btw. It's a 98 Z28 A4 with 3.23s, and I want to wake her up. What do you guys recommend like: Exhaust, LS6 Intake, Lid, Tune, Programmer, Gears, DRs, Stall, PCM, Spark Plugs etc.

I'm not looking into turbos or superchargers right now.
And can you guys please be specific, like tell me the brands or models of the parts.

It looks like you've already nailed down the generic mods list. Brands/types are going to be preference as much as anything else.

Yep you pretty much nailed it, and if you want to go fast for really cheap on ocassion then a small shot of nitrous would be good at that point

i like maganaflow cat backs. slp is also nice but it comes down to preference. i recommend a professional tune from a local shop.

if money is no issue, kooks true duals. slp lid, yank 3600, nitrous outlet plate kit, drag radials=12.0x and will sound awsome.

Exhaust: ARH/Kooks LT headers & y-pipe with Corsa/GMMG/Kooks catback
Lid: pick one - SLP is most common
Gears: Motive/Yukon 3.73's
Stall: Yank 3600
Intake: LS6 manifold, POTZ throttle body, chris1313/FTRA ram air mod
Tune: custom dyno tune or mail order frost tune
Ignition: NGK TR55's and MSD wires
Tires: MT ET street drag radials
Pullies: Powerbond/ATI underdrive crank pulley

Also most suspension bolt-ons will help the car hook

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Our 2004 C5 ran 13.3x bone stock. Adding ARH 1 & 7/8" LTs, 3" X-pipe with no cats, stock Z06 catback, Yank SS4000, 3.90, and a good dyno tune and drag radials took us to 11.5x in good air. Going to spray it now and see how close to the 9s we can get with the stock LS1.

Which kooks headers are you talking about, are they the ones that come with the y pipe included?

Call Aaron @ Texas Speed and talk to him. Tell him I sent you

TSP 1 7/8" headers
TSP true duals (Camaros look better without tips)
SLP lid
LS6 intake
Ported throttle body (I'm partial to New Era or Mark Shaner... PeakSpeed as well)
NGK TR55 plugs and MSD wires

Shoot over to WS6 store and get an AC version Chrs1313 ram air

Have fun with that for a while, then chime back in here about a stall and 3.73 gears... It never ends.

For those of us with an M6, it always starts with a CAGS bypass, and never stops from there

Depends if you have emissions in your area for one. I don't and still have cats to quiet it down a bit and cut out the smell. You really shouldn't see any HP loss with the new hi-flo cats. I would also go with the kooks TD and their 1 7/8" Headers. Last system you'll ever buy. Call Maryland speed for a much better price than is on their site.

If money is not an issue, and you're looking @ Kooks, I would agree with BrentWS6, get their LT headers and true dual system...if you wanna stick with the single Y-pipe, go with ARH, same quality header, but I think they have a better Y-pipe
