You should only be using 5.5 quarts to fill it.

Where is it leaking from

Have you messed around in your engine bay lately? I once had a weird oil leak after a header install. Turns out my dipstick tube worked itself loose, just enough to let out a small amount every once in a while.

Maybe that is it. Normally no oil leaks. But noticed it was half a quart low about a month ago, so I added a half quart to fill up and next morning a spot appeared. Leaked for about a week then it stopped for a couple weeks... checked level half quart low added 1/2 quart..... another spot of oil on floor. Appears to be from above starter.

So what was your leak source, the oil fill tube seal? I am having something similar after header install, and it was the oil fill tube seal, which was replaced, but seems to be leaking again in that passenger side area...

Did you seat it in completely. You have to give it a nice little push for it to seal all the way. Felt like it was in there when mine was doing it but it wasnt seated properly. Once i did that the leak went away. Ive replaced every possible gasket in this motor a few years back and so far still no leaks..... knock on wood.
