Default Trouble with 4l80e connector

I'm finishing up my 4l80e swap into my 2000 trans am. The problem i'm having is that the where the wiring harness plugs into the trans there isn't enough room to for the connector between the transmission and the tunnel. Part of the subframe sticks out and gets in the way. Is there a good way around this? Other people had to have dealt with this when swapping in a 4l80. I haven't actually tried to plug it in yet because I still have to lengthen the wires so it'll reach, but there is only about 1/4" between the connector on the trans and and tunnel. Any input at all is appreciated.

You were supposed to cut a hole or hammer out the area where the plug is nearly touching the tunnel..

Drill a hole from the inside, plug in.

on an 4th Gen? i used a cutting wheel and then used an air hammer to push up the steel enough to get room for it all. It's still pretty close and i may crawl under there and hammer some more to get a little more space
