84 mustang turbo 5.3 I have a few questions regarding this build. My buddy finally got smart and decided to ditch his headache built 331 5.0 for a 5.3. The 5.3 came out of a 06 1500 that had a spun bearing. He wants to forge and stroke it to a 347. We will be using a 750 4 barrel e85 blow through carb and get rid of the electronic ignition and go with a distributor. Still plan on running e85 with a turbonetics 78 turbo. Oh, and its t5 transmission.
Ok, for the questions,
1. What should we run for compression? I was thinking somewhere around 10.5-1 being its on e85.
2. What would be a good cam, or who specializes in custom turbo cams?
3. Would stroking the 5.3 be worth it, or reuse the stock crank with forged rods, and pistons? (I have a 6.0 crank if this one is shot)
I'm sure I will have more questions. But these are the main ones. Thanks.
