Default Could a ls9 cam improve highway mpg?

Would a ls9 or similar cam possibly improve highway gas mileage? I've considered this cam as a possible option... I plan to do a "full tune up" soon. I have a nib fast92 and plan to install that and some headers at the same time.

I just figured while doing the Intake and exhaust I might as well do a small cam. I'm just afraid of losing my 20+ mpg.

Ls6 cam= 207/217
Ls9 cam= 211/230

With the mods in my sig i was getting 22-24mpg on the highway. The engine was definetly more efficient after the longtubes and cam so it gained a solid 1-2mpg on the highway. It did lose 1-2 city though.

The ls9 is basically identical to the ls7. A little less lift but it will gain you in the ling run as well.

Toss in some ported heads and intake and u are on your closer to a 500hp motor.

I have a 6.6ltr with ported ls3 heads, escalade intake manifold, with 1 7/8 headers, ported tb, ls7 cam, with 1.85 yella terra rockers amd my engine made 520/520 on a engine dyno with 24degrees of timin. When i install my engine will post mileage. As of now with a 5.3ltrat 55mph i am gettin 25mpg with afm disabled. Not bad for a tahoe...

Not bad for a Tahoe at all!! I'll prob get the gt11 cam cause it requires less supporting mods. I plan to install 1 7/8 kooks, fast 92mm, ls2 TB and the gt11 at the same time. Plus the other stuff required to make it run. I already have a k&n cai and magnaflow catback and it made 351hp/341tq tuned.

I'm hoping that without touching the heads, execpt for springs... I'm not sure if I need new springs? I'm hoping to make between 430-440hp

Eventually I will do something with the heads. I'm just no sure what's in the future for this car yet. I'm thinking turbo at some point

I was gonna use a gt11 but thats an additional 600$ for me. So i stuck with the ls7 cam. The gt11 us a great cam great street manners and it pulls great. Had it in my v before i went for a gt1-1. Now thats a monster cam with no street manners just pure acceleration... My new v engine is a 6.8ltr with ported ls9 heads made 625/555 on the engine dyno and 550/505 on the chassis dyno. It does nuttin but spin those tire and smoke them...
