alternator upgrade question
I posted in the thread a few times but nobody has been on in a while so I figure I just stay a new thread since in the 6 pages I read through I didn't see anyone even ask this.
Ok so might have ran into a problem.I'm hoping it's something easy to solve though. I have 98 trans am and I'm doing the alternator upgrade. Mine is from an 04 escalade. Anyways I was also replacing the connector with the same part referenced in this thread
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/1287967-fix-my-endless-alternator-failure-s.html
Anyways as I was about to splice the wire to connect the new one I noticed a possible problem. My new connector has 4 wires, my stock only has one. Do I only splice the one connector and pull the other 3 or what? I really don't want to reuse the same connector as you can see it's pretty thrashed
Old connector with only one wire going into the connector
