Default T56-4l80e driveshaft change?

I'm putting a 4l80e in a t56 car, will I need to get a new driveshaft? I'm not sure if the M6 shaft is longer than needed, if so I'll have it shortened, anybody know the answer?

You will need a new trans slip yoke because of the spline count difference, then You can have Your driveshaft shortened to fit due to the 4L80 being 5/8" longer.

Correct, and to add to what Carl said if you're making the swap I'd recommend investing a quality 1350 yoke, Strange is a good brand. Looks like Carl is a dealer for that as well
