Default 5.3 pulley spacing

Hey guys, I'm doing a 5.3 swap and planned on running 2 ECUs for the time being. I wanted to make my factory gauges work, so I had a shop make me a piece of aluminum that would sit in the crank pulley and mount my old trigger wheel outside of it. I also ordered myself an ARP pulley bolt. Now the problem is that the way these guys made it, the washer won't fit through the center of this aluminum piece. Even if it did, the base of the aluminum piece is about .25" thick. What should I do here? Is it safe to remove the washer from the ARP bolt? Can I machine the washer down and live with the extra .25" that this mount extends?

Thanks
