Default Building a 383 lt1

First I want to thank you all for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience.

Next I have to say this is my first real engine build and I am new to the performance scene but worked on cars for about 15 years before joining the military 8 years ago, so I'm somewhat knowledgeable but a little rusty.

I just bought a 1996 lt1 and t56 transmission out of a 96 firebird. My c4 vette has an A4 so I'm not going to use the t56 just yet. The block is at the machine shop getting bored 30 over. They are going to polish and mic the crank and I'm hoping to be able to reuse it.

I want to reuse the stock heads and maybe port and polish them. I'm looking for some advice on what would be a good combo for the top end.

I want a semi aggressive cam but it will be my daily driver. Budget is not an issue right now but I don't want to go all out on my first build.
