Question Catalytic Converter and Y-Pipe Modification Questions/opinions

Hi everyone,

I own a 2001 Trans am WS6 and I am looking to do a few exhaust mods. I would love to hear some opinions in order to help me make the best decision for my car.

For starters, I live in NY state and I will be leaving some form of Cats in the car, preferably high flow Cats. So please do not tell me to chop them out, I would loveeee to but I do not want to deal with NYS inspection.

Current exhaust set up:

SLP Loudmouth catback

Desired Modifications:

1) High Flow Catalytic Converters
2) New y-pipe

I have been told that doing headers is a real pain in the ***, that is the only reason why I did not have that option on my list.

Any recommendations and or opinions are greatly appreciated! Even HP gains would be great to know as well. I do not expect a ton of added hp because I am not doing heads, but a ballpark would be great.

Thanks!

Do header with a catted ypipe. They are not that much of a pain in the ***. The gains will be worth the small *** pain.
