Default Please Help With TA Bezel Install!

I'm putting in a TA Bezel on an '02 Camaro and I'm having some trouble. I took the two screws out of the black plastic piece surounding the gauge cluster and now I can't get the piece out. The right side comes out freely but the turn signal unit on the left side is making it impossible for me to get it out without breaking it. How do I get that black plastic piece out without breaking/scratching anything? After I get it off anything else I should know? Thanks!!

According to the factory shop manual, you need to remove the lower panel below the steering column, then loosen the bolts holding the steering column in place so the column drops down enough to enable you to get the surround off the guage panel.
