rebuilt 4l60e with new converter shudders on lockup
Just did a rebuild on a 4l60e with a new converter from transtar. I installed the superior shift correction kit (4l60E-L) as well. I have built a few 4l60E's and have never had someone come back to me complaining about a shudder. I went for a test drive and sure enough.. it shudders when the TCC locks up.
According to the shift kit, the powervalve sends more fluid to the converter clutch than the stock valve. I told the guy he would need a new converter. Being a bit paranoid that it may be my fault, I would hate to have the guy replace his converter and still have the issue. To some of the other experienced trans guys, what should I check before I tell him to return the converter?
It shifts great in all ranges. No contamination on the fluid. It dosent feel like a misfire. I havent checked line pressure, but I doubt ill have an issue with that. Anything else anyone can think of? I may just be overthinking it!
