larger transmission cooler??
Hey guys. so, very briefly, i won a 2000 Trans Am a few weeks ago from a raffle at work. the engine has been modified some, but i do not know to what degree. i was just enjoying it for a sunday drive when the transmission gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. so fast forward, and i am getting a new transmission put in (i dont pretend to know everything, but one that has a little beefier components) along with a new torque converter and flexplate/ flywheel (i still dont know the difference between the two. read one thing then told another. flexplate is for an automatic, right?). Oh, its a 4L60E (hold the applause ) however.. i was told i need a larger transmission cooler. thoughts? feel free to ask questions, and correct me where i am wrong!

If you are going back with a stock stall torque converter you would be fine with the stock cooler but it would not hurt to add more cooling. If using the stock cooler that was in the car when the trans failed be sure it is flushed out.
Correct flexplates are for automatics. Flywheels are heavy and is part of the clutch system.
