Default TSP 225 questions

225/225, .589/.589 112+2 lsa

1- Anyone running this cam in an A4? How does it idle? Other symptoms?
2- Any track #'s ? (Planning for low 11's, H/C+ bolt ons and weight savings)
3- Has any one sprayed this cam yet?? How did it do? (Plan 150 shot max)
4- Is that cam an XE-R lobe??

I'd give TSP a call. I doubt a lot of people are running it since it has just been "released" but the guys at TSP should be able to help with all your questions.

I have this cam in a M6 - it is fairly aggressive. I don't know how it would idle with an A4 (the Avalanche is my only auto). I need to get mine tuned so it won't die when I have the AC on and turn the wheel (at idle). Lumpity Lump Lump. Course I've only had the cam in for 29 hours ;] Perhaps the computer will *learn* a little with some miles. I love it though - real strong/smooth power over 3k.

Congrats on your new cam.

I assume that your #'s in your sig are prior to your cam swap.

What PP heads did you get. I would like 5.3 race heads, but they are a little over my budget. I think I'll have to settle for 5.3 stage II's.

i've been in contact with TSP, always ready to answer questions. They've put a 225 114lsa in a C5 but I didn't get a feedback for an A4 on a 112+2.

One thing I could kill for a a comparison between it and the 224/0.581/112 cam.

Stage 2 5.3L LS1 style
The real bonus to these heads are the goodies they come with (nice spring, ti retainers, good valve seals, seats, etc). The CNC porting looks good - but nothing like hand polished MTIs or similar.
The price can't be beat, and doesn't require a core.

I'd do a 114 LSA on an automatic for the extra vacuum...the car stalls in parking lots if you don't give it gas (can't use power steering, brakes, and AC at the same time without extra gas).

I know a 114 would make life easier with an A4, however what I would like to know is if the 2 degrees advance in the grind would make up for that vacuum loss and tame it a little.
Perhaps someone at TSP would like to clear that up for me. Or someone that has it in an auto.
