Default Got a few questions about the t-rex cam!

I just bought the t-rex cam itself used from someone on this board. I know i need springs and all that other good stuff. I was just gonna get what comes with thunder racing's cam package individually. Any other recommendtions? Anyone selling anything i need?

ps. Any advice/suggestions/warnings i should know before and after i put in the cam? I know i need a tune, just gotta save up money for that. Also with my mods listed below, what kind of gains can i expect? Oh and one last thing, will my redline get move up after puttin in the cam? I heard that my car will redline at like 7k now.

You could be really really cheap and just get a set of springs and call it a day, but that would be dumb. Here is what I would get if I was in your position

Springs
Retainers
Heavy Duty Timing Chain
Ported ZO6 oil Pump

and save some money for a good tune, I think a mail order tune from a reputable shop would be sufficient if you arent close to one. If I had to take a lowball guess as to what kinda horsepower, Id say 415rwhp......

You definitely need hardend pushrods as well. I ask them specifically when I ordered my T-Rex kit and they told me it would be needed.

Ive heard mixed emotions about hardened pushrods, such as if you over rev the motor and your valves contact pistons the pushrods will jsut bend istead of the valves. In first camswap i ordered the kit with the hardened ones, with my other ones, I put the stockers back in. Never had a problem with them.
