Default 7.62@90.14 1/8mi>>>Stock Internal a4 guys come inside.

Just ran a new best with my bolt on a4 99 ws6.
1.57 60ft
7.62 1/8
90.14 mph
12.06 1/4
111.10 mph

7.62@90.14--this seems like an awesome 1/8 mi
time for a 12.0 car at 110-111mph. Car is
set up with a Yank ST4000 and 3.42's. Is my lack of gear sacraficing 1/4 mi et and mph. The converter feels like it is not pulling through
third gear at all. Just kind of hovers at 4500
or so-Will putting more gear in the car help it
pull harder through third-say 3.73, or 4.10's.
I would think a car going low 7.60's at 90+ in the
eighth mile would be 11.80-90 car at 113+. Would
my torque management issues on the 2-3 shift
be causing this? Or do I need more gear, any suggestions?

Please help, Thanks, Travis.

TM is a big problem in my car. It has even scraped the headers once from falling on its face so bad on a 1-2 shift. I usually run consistant 7.20's and 11.50's with a best of 11.41 now. I gained 2 tenths when I went from 3.23's to 4.10's. You would probably see a tenth gain from 3.42's-3.73's since thats not alot of gear change.
Some of what you are experiencing is probably TM but some of it is with stock internals, we just dont have the rwhp to accell hard in high gear.In my experience, a tp4400 is a tenth quicker in our applications over a tp4000. Weight is everything in a stock internal car. Get it as light as possible!!

That's a really low 12 second run. On my 11.99 in my sig, you can see how close my 1/8 mile run is to yours. FWIW, I ONLY get TM on my 1-2 shifts - now... On my 11 second run, I didn't get any, because(I believe), that was my first hard run - and pass - with my converter, and the computer didn't kill it with TM like it does now on EVERY run, but only on the 1-2 shift. And to the tune of -10 degrees.

I think the TM is holding me back too. It falls on it's face on the 1-2 and 2-3.
Just for your reference.
I'm running 12.07 at 113.14 with 3:73's and a YANK ST3500 with a 1.68 60ft.

7.61@89 here with a 11.98@112.65

your times arent that bad, but like they said TM is probably hurting your ET a little..

My 11.80 came with a 7.46@90 1/8 I have the TP4500 and I would run almost 114 when I hit at least 90 when it would pull all the way through(I have 3.42's also) You might be getting a little knock up top, I've had that happen to me a couple times but nothing a little octane boost wouldn't correct

I was definitely wondering about the knock
retard issue as well. Going to drive it to work
when I get it back together and make a few
runs on my lunch break with the tech2 scan tool.
Do you think that it would be worth my while to
try more gear in the car? The 3.42's are neat for
hooking on the street but I think the car would wake up in third with a little more gear-3.73's
probably. Also for those who are spraying.--
My first time w/ the TNT 100 shot, ran 11.12@122.8
1.55 60ft-spinning. My shift points are set at
-7mph on the 2-3 shift and I still hit the 6400
chip in the window switch. Would removing the torque managment w/ Ls1 Edit firm up my 2-3
shift. Tried the 150 shot but the car totally
fell on its face on the 2-3 shift, even with
the -7mph HPP3 shift point and a transgo shift kit. ???

What tires are you running?
Was there a nasty headwind?
At what rpm is your 2-3 shift occuring?

Currently running 26x11.5x15 Et Streets,
probably going to switch to Hoosier 26x10's
when I buy new tires.
The converter is so loose on the juice I'd say the 2-3 shift starts at around 5600 rpm and barely hits the 6400 chip on the window switch-100shot- Transgo shiftkit and 75%increase of firmness on HPP3-I know this can't be good for longevity-
With the 150 shot it gets worse, starts the shift
at 5600 and pulls through the chip-shifts at 6500
or so and then the N20 comes back on when it gets
into 3rd.
I know that this lazy shift on the 2-3 is killing me-Art carr tranny was worth 3 solid tenths on my lt1. I just don't want to blow two grand on another trans, there's got to be a better way.

Runs were made on a perfect day at Gateway International Raceway-no headwind, brand new track surface-wasn't hooking well but started to come around by the end of the day.

Its definitely TM. On hypertech in the 2-3 gear shift, I have it set on -5. When I bring it up to 0 or +1 I loose mph. I'm pretty sure its due to TM. I think I'm shifting at around 5500-5600. I'm currently getting my pcm programmed at Ed Wright to remove TM.

Those are good numbers...

Just a note of inspiration.. I've notice that my 1/8 times on an actual 1/8 track are a little higher(slower) than runs on a 1/4 track/run.. ran across this back home in Florida.. between two local tracks.. on back to back nights.

Guys.. I can't stress enough! I tried EVERYTHING to avoid getting custom tuning. It's not worth it. Bite the bullet and get that TM removed.. it's not worth your sanity.

Great times, on my C5 my 1/8 mile times are...7.53 @ 93.05 on BFG 275/17 drag radials. This gave me a 11.73 @ 117.96 in the 1/4 mile at 3590 (inc. roll bar and safety equip) and 2900 PT converter with 3.42 gears.
