Car keeps getting the Solenoid B Code
About 6 months ago I was on my way home for work and the SES light came on and the car wouldnt go into OD, or shift down. So I went home put it on my predator and checked the code "Solenoid B stuck or performance" then cleared it and changed a few things about the settings I had on it. Then the car worked fine no problems what so ever! Then this weekend I drove from Houston to San Marcos Tx and the thing did it again! Im not sure if the hills had anything to do about this or what? What is this solenoid do and how much would something like this cost? Where is it located on the transmission? I had my transmission done about a year ago by Century Transmission and of course its out of warranty. Any help would be appreciated! Oh yeah the car has a vig3200 in it if this will help with any feedback.
Thanks

There are two types of solenoid faults: Performance and Electrical. Usually when its an "electrical" fault, its because of high resistance in the solenoid or connection. "Performance" faults usually indicate that its electrically OK and another fault exists (leaking solenoid, jammed solenoid, or stuck shift valvetrain in the valvebody). I would probably replace the two shift solenoids first, since its easier, but if that does not fix it, you may need to pull the valvebody for further investigation.
