Thumbs down Keep blowing fuses...

Ok, got an 02 TA M6 and I keep blowing my Turn Signal/Reverse Fuse when i put the car in reverse. The turn signals will work fine, but once i put the car in reverse, the fuse blows instantly. I took the tail lights off today hoping to see a bare wire, but nothing. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

Bryan

Check the back up/reverse switch, since your problems happen when you engage reverse. Pop the cover off the console and check there first.

Does it blow the fuse with the bulbs out? If not, you have a shorted element in one of the bulbs. If it does do it with the bulbs out, you have a partial short to ground on the reverse light 12v side. With the car off and the bulbs removed, check the center contact of the bulb socket for resistance to ground. Should be open. By doing this you can find your short and trace it back to see if the reverse switch is bad.

man this is getting aggravating, is there a way just to bypass my reverse lights so they don't work no matter what? I don't care if my reverse lights ever come on, i just need blinkers.
