Default Stock Torque Converter

I've been thinking about getting a 3500-3800 torque converter, but it's been brought to my attention that it may be better (?) to 're-flash' the stock converter.

Anyone done this, is it cheaper or more effective?

Put that idea out of your head. You'll end up pulling it back out for a better converter before long.
