Default exhaust leaks and tuning problems

Hi guys,

What effect (generally) do exhaust leaks have prior to the O2 sensors?

I am getting a header leak by the flange and also a leak on both header collectors where the reducers are attached to the merge collectors.

Would this cause a huge tuning change requirement after I fix/weld these leaks?

Do exhaust leaks typically lead to idle problems?

thanks again,
Chris

I would assume so. The o2 will be seeing a super rich (IIRC) condition and start compensating for the extra oxygen in the exhaust. This will be reflected in your TRIMS extremly -

Chris:

The exhaust leak can lead to idle problems. Depending on where the leak is, the scavenging can suck air into the collector and cause the A/F to be off.
