Plugs Gapped Out of the Box?
Swapped Plugs + Wires with NGK TR55's and Taylor wires. On driver side i checked the plugs before installing them with a plug gapper that had settings for .060 and .050, there wasnt a setting in between for .055. The 4 new plugs were all in between .050 - .060, so I assumed they were gapped at .055. On the infamous passenger side I F'd up though and forgot to check the gap before I installed them . I looked at each plug while I applied anti seize and they all looked equal, I realized after I finished the job that I forgot to check the gaps on that side. Will they be gapped perfectly just like the first box of plugs were, or should I jump back in the engine bay, take 'em out again and find out for sure.

Find out for sure. NEVER assume that your plugs are gapped correctly. They may have been gapped right when boxed, but they've been bounced around the country a bit since then. If you saw what went on at a UPS receiving center...

According to NGK, the preset gap on the TR55s is about .059, while on the TR5s and TR6s it's .039
In my experiences so far with these plugs it has been pretty close. But it's always a good idea to double check. Also, you should never change that preset gap by more than .010. So don't try to run a .045 gap with a TR55, if you're going to use that low of a gap, use the TR5 or TR6.

The car idles smoother, responds better than ever, will there be any noticeable differences if the plugs on the passenger side were gapped incorrectly... say bad fuel mileage or somethin. I am pretty confident the plugs were gapped very close to .059 out of the box. Also, I picked them up from Speed Inc, eliminating needless shipping. Like I said, the first box of plugs were all gapped exactly the same, so I would imagine the second box would be as well.

Well going by what 98Z-6Speed said, they are not gapped to narrow. So thats a plus. The only other option would be to wide. Highly doubtfull in a box to pull up on the plug during shipping. Just my .02. If the car idles smoother then before, responds better w/ throttle and has no misfire or code, doesn't it make sense that they are right?
Anyone put plugs in that were gapped to wide and had no sign at all that they were wrong?
