Default input shafts

I have a 2001 blazer that I'm putting a LS1 into and I'm trying to see if there is any differences in the tranny's. I heard that the only main difference in the 4l60e for the blazer and the t/a, ss, etc. is the input shaft is this true? If I upgrade to a 65e would this solve my problem?

Thanks

Yes - it is true. The 4.3 is the same as the Gen-I SBC Vortec, 30 splines. The LS1 and Gen-III motors need a 4L60E with a 33-spline input shaft.

Also keep in mind the torque converters do not interchange.

LS1 (GenIII in general) transmissions use a different input shaft, 300mm converter and matching stator shaft. All three must be used together, you cannot mix and match shaft, converter and stator shaft. Also note that GenI/GenII bellhousings are different then GenIII (because of above changes).
