coolant reservoir removal for weight, bad idea??
just thought about removingt he coolant reservoir under the battery. wasnt sure if it was a necessity or not?

Not a good idea, as it is needed. The cooling system constantly takes coolant in and out of the resovoir, depending on cooling system temperature and pressure. Also, unless you have moved the battery, the resovoir serves as part of the battery hold down.
If the battery is in the back, you could install an aftermarket recirculating overflow catch can in place of the ugly stock resovoir. That's what I have.

Besides that...your local track officials won't let you run without it. <img src="http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/nono.gif" alt=" - " /> For some reason, they don't like coolant puking all over thier track. <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
