Default Happy with N/A and Spray on the Dyno!

Just wanted to share my happiness... After some tuning my heads/cam Z28 put down 436/420 and with a little TNT 100shot nailed a 576/590! I think with the 150shot jets and some tweaking 625/625 may be possible on a STOCK bottom end. Many thanks to Norris Motorsports and DTP tuning! Now I need to shop for a 12-bolt...

Really stout torque numbers! What's the specs on the heads and cam. Also are you running the stock fuel pump?

Nice numbers! I really enjoy the way mine runs with spray! I wanted to go to 150 jets also, but jayson at MTI didn`t feel good with it. Said 600rwhp is tough on a stock block! Maybe in the future for me!! But I have A4

CNC Stage II 5.7 heads and a "who the **** knows" cam that was thrown in as a trial for lower-lift with a good amount of duration. I have an inline fuel pump and am thinking about going with some 30# injectors in the future. I'm sure that I'll puke the motor at some point (and build a nasty forged set-up), but for now I am going to push the stocker to the limit. These LSx engines continue to impress me!

JRP- I honestly don't know the exact specs of the cam. Mike Norris evidently got it custom from a vendor he deals with. I've e-mailed him for the specs because I've had so many people ask me now that I have some solid HP numbers. The compression is 11-1 and all runs were made on 93 octane that was sitting in the car since June.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the kind words and glad she is still behaving. The heads are LS1's and have REV 2.02" in and 1.57" ex, REV duals, flow approx 300CFM intake and 220CFM ex at .600" lift. Cam is a 232/236 XE Comp on our specific LSA and ICL. Hope this info helps a bit. Later all.

That's sweet! So the 100 shot ended up being a 140 shot, huh? Maybe TNT really does underrate their kits a wee bit.

Thanks for the info Mike! I shot you an e-mail from my Outlook account, so if you have time, check it out. Looks like that exhaust duration really helped the nitrous numbers!
Joe Dirt- It's a wet kit with an inline booster pump. Might up the injectors now that I'm spraying it more often...

I can't remember what pump is under my car...maybe Mike will chime back in. I think it's a Walbro, I'll have to look this weekend when I get the sub-frames welded on. In your shoes, I would add either an inline, or in-tank for peace of mind...

The kit is not underrated, it is just more efficient. They rate the kits by the hole sizes in the jets. TNT is an expensive kit but it will pay for itself by not having to have the bottle refilled as often.

SStolen- I have heard that the spray pattern design on the TNT nozzles is very good, so maybe that contributes to the efficiency. While my kit has had some issues (latest was oil weeping from the bottle pressure gauge), and the fitment was a little challenging, overall I'm happy with TNT and would buy another kit from them.

bad ***, my new setup is very similar except im running a forged 347 w/ 11.3CR and my heads flow just a tad better. makes me optimistic about my future numbers.

JRP- I'm sure it will be a beast! My car pulls so hard from 4K to redline that it's downright violent! I'm gonna go forged as well when I blow something up...

Holy crap!

I didn't even think a stock bottom end could handle near 600 crank hp!

Is the bottom end of an LS1 forged already?

you got alot of learning to see how much the stock bottom end can handle . and no, the ls1 does not come with forged internals.
