Default Ran last night in "Thunder" trim.

Went to HRP last night for some shake down runs in "Thunder" trim <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> .

Full interior, plus an assortment of lead shot filled weight bars, and the most gas the car has had in it in probably two years <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> .

Raceweight came in right at 3250 lbs.

Running the MADMAN tq arm now, and his trick LCA's, and PHR. Also had some brand new 28x10.5x15's.

Made 4 runs, two of which the car launched so hard I pulled it into 2cnd right on the launch.

3rd run I ran .06 off my best ever ET ( which was ran at a RW of basically 200lbs less ). The bummer is that I don't get near the growth out non w tire, and I was basically shutting it down and coasting the traps.

The car feels ROCK stable with the MADMAN rear suspension! Hope to get back soon for some more playing <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Very nice Pain <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I look forward to seeing your car run at the shootout.

Have you thought about a possible gear ratio change to compensate for the non-growth? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Yeah I have some plans for the car after Thunder is done, and the appropriate gear set for these tires, or buying a set of 29's would sorta be a waste.

I really didn't figure there would be THAT much difference in the tires concerning rpms/traps. Just my inexperience...lesson learned.

Sounds killer, Larry! So how do you like the torque arm?

Interesting that you get less growth from the non-W tire... I never considered that there would be a difference, and haven't run anything but 28x10.5 ET Drags (but I do have a pair of 28x10.5 stiff sidewall slicks on the way).

Nice video, BTW <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Was that with the torque arm set where we talked about via email? I'm still getting mine dialed in.

Yep that was with the tq arm set just like we talked about. Brian told me to try it set like that. I really liked it.

The only way I can describe it is that with his setup on the car, I seem to get a much better response to the quick changes I can make between runs Like shock settings. With the old setup...It never hooked consistently enough to get a real feel for any of the changes I would be making. Last night the rear seemed to be planting the same every time, and every run I made a slight adjustment to the front shocks only, it was like dialing up the front end lift I wanted.

I'm very pleased with the setup! I think with a little fine tuning the car will cut consistent rock steady 1.3's.

It's one beefy TQ arm, with ALOT of adjustability.

As far as driveability...ask Coach, he has one on his car, and I'm pretty sure he daily drives the car with no problems.

Thats why those cars that run in the classes that have to run a "true" 10.5" tire always ET better with a W tire because its a bit wider and grows a lot more to make it more stable

Cool <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I may have to try a set of "W" tires in the future and see if I like them.

"little" wheelie? MY ***! haha. That was a cool video Larry, someday maybe I'll have a car and be able to go to the track to see those wheelies of yours in person <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You do realize that seeing that stuff makes resisting a TH350/brake even more difficult <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Tony, how's your car looking? Are you still planning on having it back together for the Thunder Shootout? ...haven't heard anything in a little while.

The car is still sitting at MTI, waiting for a new block to be built for it. Once the block is done, we will pull it apart and swap everything over. This should happen before the Thunder Shootout, fingers crossed..... only two weeks!
