FRA= Free Ram Air, its baisically a hole cut in the bottom of your air box.

Muahaha! The Houston Secret Six strikes again!

Hint:

Camaros, go with FTRA
Firebirds, open nose mod

I have mine open, but I also have FTRA it a lid and filter dropped my ETs by 5 tenths! It has to do something good. Don't you know they have N2O in the air in Texas?

Default Im confused......FRA good or bad for ET's?

For the past 4 yrs it's been my understanding that people are having good results with the FRA at the track. Now, after reading about you sneaky Texas bastards sealing yours up and not telling anybody , whats the deal? Lately I have been seeing that people sealing their's up to run. I have been running a FRA since 99 and never seemed to have a problem with it hurting my car....

mkydiver, FRA is not the same as FTRA. That Fast Toys setup helps a little, especially on Camaros that don't have the benefit of making the hood functional.

"Free Ram Air" works okay on the freeway when you are moving, but sucks for launches. As you sit there waiting to launch, your engine is sucking in hot air off of the radiator. It was making our 60' times noticeably worse, and that is the most important part of the 1/4-mile. The open nose mod on my car was worth a tenth and 1-mph, but now I have a WS6 hood with the baffles removed, same thing.

My "FRA" has been sealed up with black duct tape for 3 years now

But, these are just some opinions, no need to take our advice....hehe
