Default Predator rev limiter....

I can't seem to increase the rev limiter with my Predator. I increased the rpm limit to 6,600 but it seems it only took effect on 3rd and 4th gear. 1st and 2nd gear seem to have the stock setting at about 6,200rpm. Anyone else having this trouble? If so, what's the work around for it? I know the tachs on our cars are known to be slow, especially on first gear but it’s hitting the rev limiter when in 2nd at 6,200. Please help.

I would suggest getting a shift light, this has cured a similar problem for me. Without an accurate tach you're pretty much just feeling around in the dark.

Double check them all I go all the way to 6400+ before the shift. Redline set at 6600.

You can trying setting your mph shift point higher too. It is supposed to look for both before it shifts (logical and), but mine used to shift on the mph no matter what.

On my Predator the RPM setting did not work either. I had to have them alter it with a custom tune. Try giving them a call or emailing them for more info on this. I believe if you do a search we are not the only ones to have this problem with the Rev limiter. Mine has worked OK ever since they did the setting as a custom tune.

Thanks guys, I'll try calling em or e-mail. I've double checked all the settings and they're all at 6,600rmp. I can't set the mph cuz I got the 6 speed.

I had this problem a while back. They added some missing REV Limiters to the software for the Predator. You will have to get a custom tune.

If I need the custom tune, do I need to send my predator in or do they e-mail the tune then I download it from my desktop to the predator? Thanks.

The second one You download your current tune e-mail it to them, along with listing ALL your mods, then they will e-mail you a tune back. You will need a 9 pin serial cable.

What is the rev limiter on and off? I just set my rev limiter on @ 6400 off @ 6400 and it seemed to raise the limiter to 6400. What is the difference between the off and on? Why don't they just have one that is the rev limiter?

I just got my predator, same problem, I don't understand it. I was able to tell a seat-of-the-pants difference though. I wanted to increase my rev limiter to 64 also, but was unsuccessful. Hope we can figure this baby out! The real time diagnostics were pretty cool though!
