Default Whats the chance of this passing CA emissions?

Was looking to maybe drop this in and was just wondering what the concensus of this passing the siffer is, LTs and Catted Y to follow. I can get around the LT inspection problem. Competition Cams LS1 camshaft.
The grind numbers are:
CC LS1 3722R/3722R HR14+2

And its specifications are:
Intake Duration @ .050: 224
Itake Lift w/1.7 rockers: .581

Exhaust Duration @ .050: 224
Exhaust Lift w/1.7 Rockers: .581

The cam is ground with a 114 LSA and it has 2 degrees of advance ground in.
Please note that the cam DOES have XE-R lobes on both the intake and exhaust.

What do you all think?

Cali emissions.... LOL you could have stoped at the Catted Y. They say the 224 can pass smog w/ an excellant tune though. Good luck.

I have a guy out here that promises to get me to pass the test by bumping the idle a little. He said that a 225/225-112 could even pass with proper tuning. Worst case scenario is that I will just change the registration to NC and then be X piped with true dual dumps.

Numerous people have passed the sniffer tests with a 224/224 114 cam and a basic tune. Putting the idle up to 925 - 950 rpm on test day will help.

Does the 2* advance help out in the whole process here too? I thought the XE-R did something funky though at times to the emissions, that was my only concern. I just really wanted a .583

If I read it right he is keeping the cats. And nothing illegal about headers. I also live in Ca and was wondering how much lift and duration I can get away with.

Anything other than the JBA shorties are illegal because although it will still be catted the locations are moved because of LTs, and that is what makes it fail by the visual inspection. If you use the search I had started a thread a while back particular to CA emissions and others have as well. A lot of good info was stated there. I know this setup will pass but I seem to remember something funky about the XE-R lobe being mentioned. Happy hunting.

I know of at least 2 cars that have passed the CA tests with XE-R lobes. One of them is mine. The other car passed with a 224º/228º 114ºlsa and a D1 Procharger

I think it would as long as the lobe center is not too tight and the tune is proper. Obviously the car shouldn't have any emissions related codes at the time of testing.

Since they use the rolling chassis sniffer test for putting a load on the wheels here where I am in Cali, I doubt bumping the idle will help much.

The less overlap the better chance you have for passing. Your cam has -4* of overlap so it's got a good chance to pass the sniffer, good luck with it...
