Default Pcm Help!?

I am trying to figure out exactly what PCM I have, (I bought one through ebay) It has a service number of 12200411, it looks like the vin number on it is 86DFNN910256BRA1. There is another number that says "HDW NO." and that is 09386530. Supposedly its out of a 2001 LS1 camaro. Any help is grealtly appreciated!

The service # 12200411 IS a PCM that was used on 2001-02 LS1 F-Body's and 2001-03 Corvettes. Unfortunatly it was also used on several other 2001-03 models. What you are probably going to have to do is find a local dealership that can perform "benchtop programming" of PCM's (not all dealerships have the equpiment). If it does not have the correct PCM programming they should be able to reprogram it to the 2001 Camaro PROVIDED you have a VIN # for a car with the LS1, tranny, and gear ratio of your choice.

Any other questions feel free to post a reply!!!

Well, yes and no. You can program it to any year 2001-2002 F-Body or 2001-2003 Corvette that you want. Earlier cars used different PCM's and to be honest with you I have no idea the differences. Also, thanks to this site, i've found that there is really no difference between F-Body and Corvette program calibrations. Pretty much just match the PCM program to the harness you have and you should be good to go!

eh... I don't think NO-OPTION-2002 is correct... while the part numbers are different... the PCMs seem to be similar enough to run any OS (99-02 FBody)

2 examples:
1. my car is a 2000, PCM was flashed to a 2000 OS by a dealership... (this is my spare PCM) ... worked fine ... 2 weeks ago I had my PCM flashed to the latest GM OS (2002 OS 12212156), car still runs fine on the same PCM

Also I know someone running a a 99 PCM in their car with a 2002 Operating system...

Now you can't use a 98 F-Body PCM in a 99+ car cause the wiring harness is different ...

Ya know...

I think horist is correct -- since the harnesses are the same # and the PCM will take any year (1999-2002) OS. I would do exactly what he did and get the latest (2002) OS program and you should be sitting pretty!
