Default Vats problem....Edit not disabling it....

Ok, security light is flashing and car wont turn over....every thing i read means that is broken wires on the vats module and that i can by-pass this with LS1 Edit. SO i load up edit and modify my latest program to be "no vats" on the vats section then save and load into car just fine. Turn car back on, security light is still flashing and still wont turn over.

My question why Edit didn't disable the VATS, or is this a seperate problem i am dealing with? Please Help.

One side note. I pulled the starter relay and it is good.
So for ***** and giggles, i jumped the starter relay and the car started and ran, all a while the security light continues to flash.... From what i read, the Vats disable the starter and injectors.....but if that is true car should not have started correct?

Desperatly seeking help here
THanks
Brian

I have search all of the forums to no avail. I am not even certain it is a VATS issue, but the flashing security lights keeps me wondering....

Any advice is better than none

The security light and starter are controlled by the BCM, body computer. Disabling VATS will allow the PCM to fuel the engine even though the BCM is telling it not to. That's why you can jump the relay and start the car.

The wires to your key are funky, or your BCM is funky. PCM is doing what you tell it to

Thanks, that makes sense....so adding a resistor should cure the problem ....

Thanks for your reply!
