Default Need tips on banging up heat sheild

My over the axle pipe on the gmmg is making a noise. How did you guys get up in there to bang it up to stop making noise? The over the axle pipe is kinda in the way. Just thought I would ask before I start trying to bang on the heat shield.

I would try repositioned the exhaust. Keep in mind, that heat shielding is covering your plastic gas tank

I am thinking about a wedge of wood and pound it between the pipe and shield. Then remove it after i am done of course. I learned on my 82 about the tank above. Never use a srew driver straight up. Put holes in gas tanks....Doh...

How bad is it hitting? My Y-pipe hits the floor some so I have put in a 3/4 rubber hose and it fixed it. Is there any way to try that? Mine is still stock there. Sorry I haven't had to experiance that yet. LOL...
