I want to get some rims and ET (street legal) slicks for my 99 TA

for the rims i want a 15" rim, what width do i need to get a true 10" tire on there.. what back spacing do i need? will a 15" with the right backspacing fit up ok or will i have to grind the calipers some?

As for the ET slicks? i want a true 10" wide tire how do you read the sizes?
I also want to trap in the 130mph range how tall should i go. I have a M6 with 3.42's.

what brand would last the longest? i dont need to hook up real well (so my stock rear will last for a little while) i just want to pull 1.7's

Since you have a M6 Hot Rod. I would get a 15x10 with 7.5 back spacing. You will need to grind the calipers some on any wheel you buy. Except maybe Bogarts. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Now for the tires. I would run a 30" to 28" tall tire but you will have to open up the fender wells some. If you don't want to open the wheel wells go with the 26" tall tire.

I would buy a tire that is made for a M6 Hot Rod. All tires are not created equal. What works for a A4 Hot Rod will not work for a M6 Hot Rod.IMO! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

thanks, it helped out some.
But would i realy need a tire as tall as 30" or even 28" if im only trapping 130's? (my rev limmiter is set at 6500 for now).
Ive traped 126 with my nittos on 16" rims, not sure how tall they are, ill go measure them. But i think im at 6000-6200 then, in fourth.

so i need a 10" wide rim to fit a 10" tire on? or will a 9" or even 8" work. I want to go tubeless.
how do you determin the width of tires when yo uorder?
I know in street tires its in millimeters, how is it for slicks?

they are measured in inches. diameter x width x rim diameter

15x10, 7.5 backspace for Weld products,
26x11.5x15 ET Streets, 15psi cold,
gain 2 psi after the burnout.

Very stable, all the way down the track.

Or the 27x11.5x15 Hoosier DOT's but ET Streets last much longer than Hoosiers.
