Default will it break???

i mainly race on the street and never at the track. i am wanting to keep the stock rear end for now, but i also wanna go with a different gear. how would a 4.10 be on the street from say about a 5 or 10 roll. do you think i would break anything? and what is the weakest part of the rear end?

Doug

From what I hear, if you don't EVER go to the track, then 4.10s will be too short. If you want a nice street gear, stick with either 3.42 or 3.73. Most street/strip cars run 3.73s. If gas mileage is ANY concern, then 3.42s are the way to go. Are you A4 or M6? I would think that if you have an A4, 3.42 is as short as you want to go for commuting. 6th gear helps us M6 guys out a lot. It all depends on what you use your car for.
