Default Misfire Issue

Well I am now part of the my new motor is not quite running as well as I thought it was club.

The problem I am having is I through a code and it happen to be a random misfire. I thought it was running rough because the computer was re-learning and I have not really tuned it yet. I was wrong and #1 is not firing. I thought it maybe the plug wire, the coil is firing, I changed some injectors around thinking it was fuel, the plug looks good but it looks wet from the fuel.

OK I have a couple of questions

1. Does it matter which coil packs go on each side?
2. Could clearance issues from the rocker covers cause a cylinder not to fire?

I put my finger over the plug whole to make sure there was some compression and there is. The next step I guess would be to do a compression check.

Thanks for the help,

Kane

Kane, give us a call and we can help you trouble shoot this. Sounds like a electrical issue if the plugs is in good shape but wet. Appears the plug is not firing. Valve covers hitting the rockers would not have anything to do with this problem unless they broke the rocker or something like that. Coils can be bolted to either side as long as they are plugged into their proper side. Give us a call.

Thanks

Ok here is the latest news. I did the crank relearn and I also changed the misfire DTC Max times all to 32767. I am not get a random misfire code at the PCM but the sanner still shows cylinder 1 misfiring is the scanner reading it wrong or do I really have a misfire? I am using HP tuner so has anyone else had this issue? I can not really feel a mis in the car and it runs great? I figure I will continue to break the car in and see what story the plugs tell me.

Thanks for the help,

Kane
