Default Help: T-Top Lock

hey everyone,

I just got a new (actually its used) T-top b/c my ttop blew off while driving down the road.

Well my question is for people who have changed the locks out on ttops. I just pulled the locking mechanism and pins from the old ttop, but I was wondering if there are any problems with leaks after doing this install.

I am asking b/c, when removing everything to get to the locking and closing mechanisms, you have to seperate the insulation (rubber going around it) away from the ttop part connected to the glass.

to make it simpler: say the ttop was on the car
- I am talking about having to pull the part that your windo goes up on to and seals from the top of the ttop (the top is what i consider the middleman between the glass and the rubber seal that the window goes onto)

I hope i made this clear ...

So, do you think this will leak (i have not yet tore my new ttop apart for this reason). If it will, should i just apply a good black silicon to seal it where the seal had been broken from previously.

thanks for the feedback in advance
