Stock 10-bolt rear...
how long will the stock 10-bolt last??? mine has oil ALL over it...my dad told me that they have an overflow, and when pressures are too high..it leaks out.i also heard from a fellow corvette owner that the dexron CRAP that they put in there FOAMS very easily.are these myths true?also will it last a little longer if i get a new set of Richmond 4.10's? TIA

with any shot of n2o going through it if you have ANY mods at all its not going to last very long. with the cam you are looking at i would STRONGLY suggest looking into either a couple of used replacement 10bolts (stock piling 2-3 with your set up would just buy you time thats about it) or better yet a 12 bolt or 9inch would be best with that cam.
4.10s i believe will put less strain on everything BUT the 10 bolt. its a steep gear. its goign to make the rear end even more weak in a 10 bolt. plus from experience with 5.0 mustang and a large wet shot, 4.10's tends to be alot of gear for the juice imo.
id start saving for that 12 bolt. thats what im trying to do, kinda hard when you are in college tho

Are you positive the oil is coming from the overflow? The stock 10 bolts have a good history of leaking from the front pinnion seal. I don't think I've been under one yet that didn't have some oil coming from it. Not too much to worry about. Keep tabs on your fluid and it should be OK.
Well......OK til you add much power to it. Rear is your weakest link right now.

they use GM synthetic gear fluid. its pretty exspensive stuff but you can get similar fluid at the auto parts stores. that dextron fluid goes in the tranny not the rear.

royal puple should work great fluid wise
as for an upgrade
if you have a 4-channel setup(have tcs) go 9" about the same price by the time your done
3-channel go 12bolt as i dont think 9" has a 3ch seyup as of yet, i could be wrong

I have had a 10 bolt in my car for a while. Not saying that the 12 bolts and 9 in rears are not way stronger. But i do have a lot of bolts ons and a cam installed . I got a torsen heavy duty diff with 4:10's with the reinforced rear end cover. I had Pyle bros in baytown set it up. Maybe i am lucky, maybe i just dont launch too hard, maybe its from not using slicks. I have ran nitrous 70hp up to 150 shot. (not with the cam however.) I dont race like a ***** so explain it to me. I would love to have a 9 inch so i could just dump at really high rpms. I am probably in the 340-360 hp with the motor.
