Default i hear a clunking noise when i make a complete stop

recently a few days back i got my motive 373 gears installed at a professional shop that specializes installing gears, and today when driving when i make a complete stop i hear a slight clunk noise coming from the back, the noise isn't really loud, just a little noise (clunk), sounds like it coming from the rear end, otherwise the car drives well, no noise when acceleration, just when i make a complete stop i hear that noise? any ideas what this could be? could be my driveshaft? i have a steel one? would i need a aluminum driveshaft? or would this little clunk be normal for a 373 gear? this is my first car with a 373 gear any ideas? thanks

My 3.73's dont clunk when I stop, they more or less make a slight noise (that only I can notice by the way, none of my friends hear any noises my car makes and it annoys the hell out of me) when I take off gently. I think it has something to do with the spacers that were used. I guessed at the amount of spacers when I put the gears in. That might be it, otherwise I am stumped and you might want to have someone look at it. BTW, did you get my email about your tail panel for sale?

My rear end clunked for 35000 miles. Dealers and everyone said that all Z28 Camaro rearends clunk.

Pinion finally failed at 35500 just before warranty. Dealer replaced the pinion bearing. No more clunk. Car now has 76,000 miles. Still no clunk.

I recently replaced the 3.23 gears with 3.73 gears and replaced all bearings and seals along with the 99 torsen. Still no clunk.

When the shop replaced the gears did they replace the bearings and crush sleave? They should have or suggested it. No use to open it up and then not replace the bearings.

Take it back.
