Default Tuning problem with STS turbo

I am having a huge problem with my new STS kit. We had my car on the dyno yesterday and it pulled some decent numbers 455/450 at 5psi but it has a lot more. My problem is that every time we did a pull my engine hit 100 percent load at about 3700 rpms which sends it into a protection mode. From 3700 up it was pulling my timing down to 11 degrees and it was just nose diving. There was no knock retard and my IAT's were only about 120 and the guy at the dyno tried everything he could think of with LS1 edit to correct the problem but had no luck. Have any of you guys had this problem running forced induction with a stock MAF or do you have to change it. Any ideas and help are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you talk to Rick at STS about this cam 224/228 .569/.572 112 lsa? We were worried about a friends cam with the turbo and it was a 224/224. I have a 220/224 581 581 115lsa. I have the STS kit also and even though the motor is not broke in it is begging to go above 4500. With my old stock motor on 8psi with the methanol on a 60-1 I made 475 / 490.

Just for the heck of it do you have TR6 plugs gapped at 33-35?

what you are saying makes no sense at all. I really doubt you were maxing the maf at 3700rpms (that would require a monster turbo). You may have been hitting TQ mgt or the p1514 table.

Please explain this "protection mode".

If it was a p1514 code, that is very easy to edit out with ls1-edit.
