Default Trying to kill the rasp

I ordered a dual 3" into 4" Flowmaster Y collector today along with a 4" to 3" reducer from Jegs. I really hate the rasp the Hooker LT's and off road y-pipe make even with an 18" bullet in the I-pipe and a GMMG style exhaust I had custom made with Sweet Thunder chambered mufflers. I'm hoping if I hack out the cheap *** Y in the Hooker ory-pipe and use the Flowmaster Y it will cut a lot more of the rasp out.
Starting with this
Cutting & adding this

I also ordered a Jantzer ported and polished throttle body.

I'd kinda agree about the high flow cats... I've also heard that the TSP td's are nice and rasp free. I've been looking at those. I'm currently hating life with my stock manifolds, !cats, and the loudmouth.

I know this won't "kill" the rasp, but I'm hoping it cuts it down a little. I might try the Borla XR1 to replace the bullet in the I-pipe, or I might just buy 2 more bullets and put them in the Y-pipe. That would be cheaper. I'm going to try this first and see where it get me

I got a couple of resonator exhaust tips. They're like mini glass pack mufflers. 12" long 2 1/2" ID and 3 1/2" OD. They slip on and replace the 3 1/2" slash cut Loudmouth tips. Look about the same and really take the edge off of the rasp. I've got LTs, OR Y, and Loudmouth with 12" bullet.

Maybe try a new catback. I've heard the SLP dual/dual is virtually rasp free with LTs/ORY, no bullet in the I-pipe needed.

If you end up putting bullets in your Y-pipe please post pics. I've always thought that would be a good idea. You could also probably fool dumbass cops into thinking you still had cats.

The Borla XR1 makes a huge difference. I had the bullet, the Borla has a flat screen going the center that breaks up the sound waves. Try that first, I think you'll be happy with the results.
