Spring Break Shootout results!
First off, I want to thank Tony and MTI for putting on an excellent race! Great job guys.
The best I was able to get out of the car was a 11.19@123.08 on a 1.61 60'. The track prep was not as good as it could have been, but that was due to the constant rain that morning. The crew did a good job getting it back race-ready. All in all, I was very happy considering the weather conditions and spinning through the 60'. With the normal 1.50 60', 10.9-11.0 would have been possible.
Everything was going well until the 2nd pass. I launched hard and the car went no where. I thought the clutch slipped, but I gave it some gas and it started to miss real bad/sputter. I pull around to the pits and let it idle for awhile. All seemed OK, but it still wasn't running well. I decided to put some gas in the car (I had 1/8 tank) and this seemed to help. I'm thinking I must have got some trash in the gas I had, but that is all speculation. There was quite a bit of junk in the race gas I put in Friday night, so my filter very well could have got clogged up some. I proceeded to run the 11.19 after this, so all is well. I'm swapping out the fuel pump, fuel filter, and getting the injectors cleaned this week just to be sure.
I ran the 11.0 index and was ousted in the 2nd round because I slept at the light.

I had a few people ask me if I was able to get the solid roller motor back in for the event. However, it wasn't to be since GTP still has the LS6 heads. I was running a rebuilt 346ci (stock pistons/rods), GTP heads, TR230/224 hydraulic cam,etc... this weekend.
I'll have some pics and videos up soon!
It was fun putting some names with some faces. I was able to meet Camaroholic, Jason 98 TA, -Joseph-, BADZ, GS WS6 (MattG), Bad Habit Bird, Terry Burger, and a few others.
I can't wait for next year!

Good times for not so good weather The coil pack relocation kit you put on the car looked SWEET. Good luck on the new setup.

Glad to see you had a good time.Sorry to hear you had some minor problems but think of it this way.
At least you didn't drop any muffler's on your head this time.
When are you going to spray it?

Re: Spring Break Shootout results!
Good to meet you too, Jason. Your car was running well considering the humidity and heat around there.
I had a great time. My neck is still on fire from the sunburn tho. <- Me.
Cheers,
Andrew
