Anybody not Heat shield tape the FRC's and still ok?
I just installed the FRC's on my HAwk, and a true Pita indeed to get that driver side to fit. On my searches for install tips I noticed that some sites recommended applying heat shield tape to the underside to protect them. Anybody NOT do this, and still seem no damage....am I safe not doing it?

From someone who's made over 250 sets of these, I say it's cheap insurance just in case. It's $15.00 for a roll from Eastwood. That beats the hell out of ruining a $250-300 set of FRCs if the motor overheats. Granted I have Jet Hot Longtubes and have run my FRCs without the tape, but it's not a daily driver sitting in traffic and I pull them when I go to the track.
