99 ls1 Car no longer has 2nd gear!!!
Ok this is my sisters 99 ls1 SS with 60K miles
on engine and trans recently the trans has been slipping she went 2 drive it the other day and some reason the car no longer goes in to 2nd gear just goes 1,3,4
What do I need 2 do.. Anyone no of a shop in the Houston TX/Friendswood/Clearlake area that can fix just the 2nd gear of the car.
Or would I have better luck just buying a used 01 or 02 ls1 Auto trans.?.
And if so how much am I lookin 2 spend??
Or having someone 2 a rebuilt on this one.?
And if so how much am I lookin 2 spend??
And is it ok 2 still drive with the trans the way it is?
Any help would be great car is a daily drive.
car is all stock except a Custom Intake/Hooker catback..

You can almost always do an overhaul depending on 1 major factor:
How much metal debris is in the tranny.
Too much metal = new/new used unit. Nearly impossible to remove all metal debris from the converter. You will not know for sure until the pan is dropped, maybe even torn down.
