rough idle...gas smell
Hi guys,
I've been fix'n my girlfriend's v6 firebird and its been idleing rough, so I replaced the spark plugs with NGKs. I thought that it would be the cure, but it still idling rough. Plus there is a heavy gas smell. Bad cat?....Injection?....fuel filter?....what do you think?
(I just redid the radiator, water pump, brakes, and after the plugs no service lights at all.)
With that, I dont think it could be an o2 sensor could it?

It could be an O2 sensor but that should set the SES light. Might as well replace the fuel filter its cheap and easy enough. Might want to try cleaning the MAF too. Maybe not all cylinders are getting spark? Could be anything you've already mentioned. Of course start with easiest stuff first.
