I want to swap out my 6 speed as my 6 week old spec stage 3 is already o the rivets. It was properly broke in. I have thought of going with the spec stage 5, but would prefer the consistency of an automatic.Price is also a concern as I just spent upwards of 10k on the motor and funds are becoming tight. This tranny will be mated to an iron block 408 with roughly 580hp at the crank and roughly the same torque. It was bulit to handle a 300 shot of nitrous. The motor currently only has 300 miles on it, and very soon will be hit with a 150shot from TNT. I want something that is going to withstand this for years to come. I would like to know everything i would need to make this a successful swap. If I go 4l80 do I still need a new driveshaft. I currently have a steel Denny's Driveshaft and would like to retain it. Any and all input would be much appreciated. TIA.
