BLAH. Sad. The only REAL player in the bad *** sport truck segment is Dodge with it's SRT-10 as the Silverado SS was never a real threat to either the Lightning or the SRT-10. I'm suprised Ford came to this decision. I mean are they really that broke? AFAIK Lightning enthusiasts are/were very loyal and many people were looking forward to this vehicle. I know Ford is working on a supposed 6.2L V8 that is supposed to be a pretty bad *** piece of machinery and perhaps this was going to be the next Lightning motor instead of a blown 5.4L but I heard that engine was a few years away at least. Who knows? In any case, crappy news.

I thought I heard they couldnt get the tranny to hold the power from the new motor? That they were using the GT(40) motor in the new lightning and it proved to be to much from the tranny.

i want to hear from all the folks who kept telling me the "new" lightning is gonna smoke the srt10......i told them to compare what is actually out there, not what is coming, and now it's on hold...too funny......
