Default Hp tuners all cars of same year compatible?

I was under the impression the HP Tuners worked on all cars of that particular year of program that you bought. Now when I visit their site, I see that the 1 vehicle type is $499 and the 2 vehicle type is $899...what's the difference?

A friend and I were going to go half and half on it cuz we both have 01 TA's, but now I dunno about that cuz we would both have to fork out $400 for the '2 vehicle type'.

Is that true?

Thanks - Josh

If you purchase the 01' Camaro/Firebird cable, you will be able to tune any 01' Fbody V8. Camaro, Formula, Transam. The second vehicle type is if you wanted to and another year or a different model. ie. 01' Corvette

Make sense?

At the very top of our orders page is:

VCM Suite is split up into 2 main packages. VCM Suite Standard which supports 1-2 vehicles and VCM Suite Pro which supports 3 or more vehicles. Each vehicle type you purchase will allow you to reprogram any number of vehicles of that model and year. You are only "locked" to the model/years that you purchase.
Our website needs so much more information added to it. We keep releasing updates and new features its hard to keep up. sorry.
