Talking Wednesday TNT results for the Formula

A few of my buds headed to Gainesville raceway last night and asked me to join, so I figured "what the hell" and raced the Formula for the 1st time since April. Bolted up the M/T sportsman pros and drove out. 1st pass warm off the road was:
rt(anticipated 3rd bulb)-.047 (red)
60 foot-1.967
330 foot-5.561
660-8.471
mph-85.38
1000-10.954
1/4-13.072
mph-106.08

I was happy, figuring the DA was about 1800-2000 ft. So I jumped back in line and got:
rt-.028 (better!)
60 foot-1.963
330 foot-5.552
660-8.456
mph-85.47
1000-10.939
1/4-13.058
mph-106.10

Man, now I remember how good of a bracket car it is! Let it cool for an hour and ran:
rt(anticipated 3rd bulb again)-.063 (red)
60 foot-1.962
330 foot-5.543
660-8.441
mph-85.69
1000-10.916
1/4-13.027
mph-106.59

waited another hour and last run was:
rt-.011 (that's a light)
60 foot-1.964
330 foot-5.547
660-8.446
mph-85.70
1000-10.920
1/4-13.033
mph-106.38

Figure raceweight was about 3400-3425 with me (1/4 tank fuel with no spare or jack). Car was consistent, dead hooked with minimal burnout. If the damn Nova didn't run 11s, I'd be happy with this car. Well, good to see it still runs well after 7 months of daily-driving!

Cool part was watching my bud Jason run a 100 hp shot on his 95 Formula (stock heads & short-block, cam change, BBK TB, hooker long tubes & 3" flowmaster cat-back, TH350 w/10" 3400 stall convertor, 3.73 geared 10-bolt). Car ran a 12.38 at 108 on motor and an 11.43 at 118 on the spray He sprayed it 20 feet out to save the weak rearend, and no one was expecting that quick of a run!

I guess I should've come out there Wednesday, since I ended up not really doing much of anything...

Glad to hear the Formula is still holding up fine even with Cindy driving it all the time now.

I'll try to get a clutch in the T/A and maybe make another trip to the track before they shut down for the season...

That's a pretty good running auto. Our SS and your Formula would make for a good race. Don't you just hate it when the slower car runs more consistent than the race car? More room for error I guess, nice passes none the less.

GeorgeC,
Yeah, cindy had a few words for me from Paris when she heard I was beating on her driver The old gray pick-up truck was out there making runs last night. I even video'd a run for you to cry over

12 sec,
Yep, almost sucks the car runs that consistent with what little is done to it and al the stuff done to Nova to try and keep it consistent. I'd definately line up against your SS, there's just that mileage thing.....
