Check around under the car looking for any coolant leaks. As long as the temp wasn't completely pegged, and you didn't kept driving for long you should be fine. Two days after I bought my Z, the belt broke 2 blocks away from the dealer...

You're probably fine..

What happend was i have been getting a squeeking sound from by belts so i tightened the tensioner to the furthest point, took a test run, 2 blocks down and my belts were squeeking, went onto a 45mph rode, belts still squeeking and then while heading home I noticed my water temp gauge was sky rocketing and got home before it hit redline, when I looked under the hood the belt was not their - the belt that runs the alternater and power stearing. I took off the aftermarket pulley then put back the stock pulley and went for another run, I got no squeeks and this time it didn't throw the belt. I looked at the stock pulley and the aftermarket pulley and the aftermarket pulley seems to be 1/16's wider and I belive the extra wideness for some reason caused my belt to squeek and the over tighting of the tensioner threw the belt. I concern if I hurt anything internally, I have drove it tonight and car felt fine, is their something I should be looking for, should I change the antifreeze/coolent?

I would say that you'll be ok as long as it didn't get too hot.

z28venom, their was no leaks, but i got scared when I didn't see the belt and heard the radiator boiling the antifreeze/coolant. So I should be ok, good. Hope you had the dealer cover the belt, I had to pay 25 dollars for one belt, the belts on our cars are pricey but our cars are worth every penny.

It'll be ok.. mine reached redline for about 5 min. I got the belts under warranty and swapped them out in the parking lot.

If you don't see any leaks, then everything should be ok..

Get out there and enjoy the car..
