Thrust bearing Questions?
Hey all, I did my own cam install early this year. I have about 4k miles or so on the car since and occasionally I hear a sound like something is loose and rattling and I can't find it. It's not loud but it's definately there sometimes but only at certain rpm's right off idle. (maybe between 1000 & 2000 rpms.)
I did have problems installing the pully before I found a longer bolt. I did tap the pully on some with a rubber mallet. I also used a hammer & block of wood but there wasn't much room to hit very hard. (yes, still dumb)
I'm curious how, if possible, is it to check the thrust bearing to see if maybe it was damaged? (without disassembling of course) What are the symptoms of a damaged thrust bearing?
I don't have any problems with the car and just did the clutch so it's nothing in there.
Thanks, any help appreciated.

Thanks, I've been over the exhaust but maybe it could be. I hope so, I'm doing TSP true duals next week so hopefully that's it.
I just had a bad feeling since I was researching the March pully I ordered rescently and saw all the posts about people saying not to use a mallet on the pully.

I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed, because the more I think back, the more I remember beating on it considerably.
I am installing my new u/d pulley this morning, anything I could check for peace of mind? Thanks for the info.
