Default What cam with TEA Stage 1.5 5.3 heads???

I'm picking up a set of TEA 1.5 5.3 heads, I was wondering what cam will work the best with these heads. I've seen that people are recommending that a cam with more duration on the intake will work the best, but I can't seem to find one that I like. I want a decent size cam that's bigger then the cam I have now with a 114 LSA, and was looking for about 420+ at the rear wheels. I have a TR224/224 .563/.563 112LSA with a Moser 12 bolt 4.11's, someone point me in the right direction!

Thanks

You should check with TEA, but recently they've been saying the high 220's low 230's cams seem to work best with their 1.5 heads.

I bet the 224 cam you have would make in the neighborhood of 400 to 420 and plenty of torque down low with all bolt ons with those heads and M6.

I figured since I will have the engine apart I was going to change the cam out to benefit the heads, so should I keep the cam? I emailed TEA and hopefully they will reply back with something. Thanks for the help so far.

Anything from the F11 to the F14 will do wonders. I have seen as much as 470+ with the FM13 and TEA 1.5 heads. The average seems to be in the 420-440 area. Also, give Alan a call at FMS. He will be able to point you in the right direction AND they are running a cam special now too.
